Abstract
|

|
A case of so-called primary ulcerohyperplastic intestinal tuberculosis is presented and the literature on it is reviewed.
1. This patient was 22 year-old female and the durationof symptoms before a diagnosis was established was about 8 years:
2: The chief complaints were indigestion, wandering abdominal discomfort or pain and inter mittent diarrhea. On the other hand the frequent complications such as malnutrition, amenorrhea and intestinal obstruction were not present in this case.
3. A typical ulcerohyperplastic tuberculous lesion was noted in the terminal ileum, in the cecum and in the distal portion of the descending colon, among them the cecum revealed a most advanced change,
4. There was no active tuberculosis in the lung or elsewhere, and a possible source of infection was suspected to be contaminated sheep¢¥s milk taken several years before the clinical symptoms appeared.
5. An . excellent result followed surgical resection(Rt. hemicolectomy) and subsequent antitubercular therapy.¢¥
